Inside the Minimal, Slightly Masculine, Residences by Armani Casa Penthouse Model Unit

The Residences by Armani Casa, which is already over half reserved, has just unveiled its brand-spanking-new $10 million sales center complete with a duplicate of the $1 billion project’s best penthouse (which itself is on sale for $15 million).

The Residences by Armani Casa, which is already over half reserved, has just unveiled its brand-spanking-new $10 million sales center complete with a duplicate of the $1 billion project’s best penthouse (which itself is on sale for $15 million). The ultra-luxury condo tower has also started site work according to a report, or is at least moving dirt around.

The space is decked out top to bottom in Armani/Casa furnishings, wall coverings, curtains, everything, in serene, creamy, cocoon-like shades of beige, ecru, eggshell, beige, and maybe even a little puce. The kitchen disappears behind a moving screen, and doorways to bedrooms and other spaces blend in with wall panels. Recessed lighting washes the whole place with gradients of light as it fades across surfaces. Sure the whole place is rather monochromatic, but that’s on purpose. Natural tones are soothing and don’t distract you from everything else. The design is much more about materiality, craftsmanship, and the lines of the space, which together make the design really a lot like that of a tailored suit.

Okay, it’s a lot like a tailored Armani suit. Developer Jorge Perez of Related, which is co-building the project with Dezer Development, told the Miami Herald that Giorgio himself is intimately involved with the entire project. “We’re not just using the Armani name to sell units,” Perez said. “The level of detail that these guys get into will drive anyone nuts. They pick every bit of the wallpaper, every fixture … When I went to Italy to meet with Giorgio Armani, he knows everything. He is involved in every drawing and design and finish.”
