The Nader Museum & Towers, as the project is called (the museum portion is known as the Latin American Art Museum, or LAAM) brings together Estefan and architect Fernando Romero to work on their second project together. Mr. Romero is the architect of another mixed-use tower that Estefan and his superstar wife Gloria have been planning in Miami’s Omni Neighborhood. Romero also designed plans for an absolutely spectacular Catholic church in Doral, which the church unfortunately replaced with something far more banal. None of this makes Nader’s plans for the coveted site a done deal, however. Mr. Nader has competition. The college is also considering proposals from the Related Group, developer Gregg Covin, and a fourth developer called Pi Art Tech.
